Irwin Molasky

Molasky developed Winterwood and Stardust Country Club golf courses as well as the communities around the courses. He also brought the Las Vegas Country Club to prominence.

He also was on the ground floor in bringing the LPGA Championship to Las Vegas from 1961 to 1966 as well as the PGA Tour’s Tournament of Champions event in 1953. He was also a member of the Las Vegas Founders Club and a supporter of the UNLV golf program.

Molasky was also a founder of the UNLV Foundation and has helped raise millions of dollars for the university.

Other notes about Molasky: He is responsible for the city's first private hospital, the 688-bed Sunrise Hospital Surgical Center & Medical Center, which now has 28 operating rooms and a nationally renowned neo-natal unit; Paradise Palms, the area's first master-planned community, which captured national honors; seven golf courses and their communities; thousands of apartment units; the first high-rise office building in downtown Las Vegas, Bank of America Plaza; and designed and developed the state's first and largest enclosed shopping mall, the 1,350,000-square-foot Boulevard Mall. In addition, Molasky brought many new nationally known "big-box" retailers to Nevada such as Best Buy, Borders Books and Barnes & Noble.
